"England's most exclusive Pink Fizz", Balfour Brut Rosé, and also its sister, the Nannette’s English Rose (in its first vintage) are grown on Hush Heath Estate from three classic Champagne varieties - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
Hidden from the world by a giant cordon sanitaire of ancient woodland, the flavour and philosophy of our Roses owes much to its historic setting. The fine soils, mild climate and long history of fruit growing, has made the Weald of Kent home to the finest vineyards planted in the UK in the last 50 years.
With Stephen Skelton, Master of Wine (MW), winemaker Owen Elias, a regular winner of the McAlpine Winemaker of the Year trophy, and assistant winemaker Victoria Ash, Balfour’s and Nannette’s grapes are in safe hands. The only UK vineyard dedicated to the creation of Rosé sparkling wine, the aim from the outset has always been to produce a taste of world-beating quality - one that can stand on its own as a modern classic.

In May 2008 the Balfour 2005 was awarded both a Gold Medal and the South East Wine of the Year Trophy.
Estate/ Visitor’s Facilities:
The exquisite Hush Heath Manor is perched atop the Estate with the whole of Kent in its sights. Founded in 1503, the Tudor timber-framed manor is soaked in English history. Hush Heath Estate, with its luscious gardens, statue-lined terraces, Japanese ponds and ancient oak woodland is a slice of Eden and the backdrop to the most perfectly manicured vineyards and orchards in the country. This is where the Garden of England rightly found its name.
Only here can Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grapes flourish amidst orchards blossoming with Bramleys, Cox Orange Pippin and Egremont Russets – a world away from civilization.
Our new state of art winery will open this June.
